If you need to speak to a doctor
please telephone 608205 between 10.30am and 11.00am when you can speak to the
duty doctor after surgery.
If the doctor is not free when you
call, your name and telephone number will be taken and we will telephone you when
we are able to put you through.
HOW
DO I...
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
These can be made by telephoning
608201 during normal surgery hours. Appointments in the evening surgery are primarily
for working people and acute problems of the day. Appointments are made for one
patient: if another member of your family needs to be seen please make two appointments
so that the notes are available and the appointments of other patients are not
delayed. If you are unable to keep an appointment please cancel it as soon as
possible, so that it can be offered to somebody else.
HOW
DO I...
REQUEST
A HOME VISIT?
These can be made by telephoning
608205 for routine or non-urgent visits. Please try and make your request before
10.00am so that the visiting doctor is able to plan his work. This can save a
lot of time. If it is at all possible, please come to the surgery as often two
or three people can be seen in surgery for every patient who is seen at home.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN
TEST RESULTS?
The practice does many investigations
each year and it is not possible to notify patients individually of the results
of their tests. If the doctor or nurse asks for tests to be carried out, ask how
long it will be before the results are available and either telephone for the
results (on 608205) or make another appointment for follow-up. If telephoning, please do so after 11.30am as our staff are less busy then.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN
PRESCRIPTIONS?
*
There may be occasions when the doctor does not feel that prescribing drugs is
clinically necessary.
* Repeat prescriptions will only be given where
the doctor feels that this is clinically appropriate.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS?
A repeat prescription card system
is used at the doctors' discretion for regular medications. Repeat prescriptions
cannot be arranged over the telephone by our staff. If you have been given a repeat
card please indicate which items are required and which of the local chemists
you wish the prescription to be sent to and leave the card at reception. Prescriptions
are dealt with twice daily, but please allow at least three working days
for this, as the chemist may not have all of your drugs in stock. Only a certain
number of repeats are allowed before it is necessary for the regime to be reassessed by the doctor;
regular medication usually means that regular check-ups are also necessary. For
repeat prescription queries please ring 608211.

REGISTER WITH THE PRACTICE?
The practice has an open list and accepts patients living within Selsey and the surrounding areas including Sidlesham and Highleigh. Patients are required to
complete a registration form at the reception desk which will notify MEDICAL RECORDS of your transfer. Two forms of identification, eg passport, driving licence and utility bill are required. All patients are registered to the practice but you have the choice to see any of the doctors.
